JUNG ON INTUITION

01-11-2024

Intuition is an innate biased way of decision-making.

Carl Jung uses the term “intuition” to name a specific psychic phenomenon within the broader spectrum of decision-making phenomena.  When Jung speaks of intuition, he refers to a specific way of individual decision-making that is totally different from how the individual with a scientific mind-set approaches problems and makes decisions.  Intuition in this sense is an innate biased way of decision-making.

Jung based his conception of intuition on observation and empirical facts.  The facts are demonstrable.  The theoretical part of his work explains the relevant empirical facts.  So as to prove Jung wrong, you would have to show where exactly does he get his facts wrong – that is to say if you can.
